During 2021. we organized 5 cruises on Po transect . At 4 stations of the transect a total of 223 phytoplankton taxa were identified in the analyzed samples. Of these, 98 species of diatoms, 99 species of dinoflagellates, 5 species of silicoflagellates and 6 species of cocolithophorids and the rest are groups of nanoplankton organisms determined up to the level of the group. The species that was present with a frequency of 98 percent was the coccolithophore Emiliania huxlei with the largest number of 251,340 st.L-1. The most common diatoms were Thalassionema nitzschioides with an incidence rate of 63 percent and the highest recorded abundance of 282,580 st.L-1
